Application:

Cemflex VB150 is a metal strip made of 0.75mm thick galvanized steel, coated with an active material (total thickness 1.25mm), and designed for sealing construction joints in monolithic structures. The strip is resistant to atmospheric influences. The active material covers the entire surface of the strip. The reaction begins and occurs only in a moist, alkaline environment (fresh concrete). Sealing is ensured due to excellent surface adhesion to concrete, slight swelling, and crystallization. Some of the crystallization reaction products migrate into microcracks and fissures, forming insoluble limestone compounds within them. The remaining active materials stay active and can participate in reactions even after many years, and if new cracks appear, they can "grow" them, thus preventing water ingress.

Installation:

The strip is installed directly on horizontal reinforcement, no closer than 50mm from the future edge of the structure. A gap of at least 3 times the diameter of the largest aggregate fraction of concrete is left between the strip and the adjacent reinforcement. The strip can be bent at an angle of 90 degrees or more. Joints are made with an overlap of at least: 50mm. Overlapped strip ends are secured with clips, supplied with the strip. In a vertical position, the strip is secured with omega-shaped holders, which also prevent the strip from shifting during concrete pouring. It is also possible to embed the strip into fresh concrete without prior installation.
